    1. LOL, absolutely nothing but watercolor on this – not even pencil OR a reference photo or a life scene. Made it up, actually. Used a couple of shades of blue, a little beige, some green and purple mixed. The paper was also bespotted when I started, so I worked it into the scene.

    2. PS All of the white is the white of the paper showing through. For the water sparkle, that is a relatively dry, lightly loaded brush across the paper. The paper isn’t even white – it’s more of a pale beige, off white.

Gorgeous, this reminds me of last week, just before the storm we had looking out to the Isle of Wight, from the cliffs at Barton ( uk) you could see the rain coming in, the little island on the south coast almost has its own climate, and if you look out to sea, take a look at the weather over head of the island, you can tell what our weather will be. ( a photographer called Jamie Russell has taken some amazing weather shots from the island, you painting reminded me of his work) thank you.

  2. beautifully serene Cynthia. even tho, I am, a color addict… lol I do love, the tranquility of monochromatic paintings. they provide such harmony, I just go on “auto-relax” – this is lovely! cheers, Debi
