Thanks to New Hampshire Garden Solutions for help in identifying this bit of nature I picked up on my afternoon walk earlier today. “These are the male pollen bearing cones of the eastern white pine (Pinus strobus.)” Achoo! They look like little pineapples.

  1. You had to mention pine pollen! My, it can be intense here!
    Remember one early June of heading out from Newburyport to Stellwagen Bank to view whales and seeing a mile-wide band of green (the pollen) all along the shore as we headed out … and again, on our return.
